THE DOOR Opens

Today mom relented and left THE DOOR open to dad and mom’s room. I didn’t rush right in, took my time, let mom invite me in. And I did not go near the space under the bed (mom is very sensitive about that space). I don’t need that hide-out any more because I feel safe here. I jumped up on the bed first and looked at everything.

Then mom opened the shades and I jumped over to the window.

I saw the back yard in a new way! The neighbor has a huge compost bin that will surely attract possums and other wild animals this spring.

Food, Food, Food!

Mom returned from work with two (2) bags full of cat food! Unfortunately I ate so much I got sick (my stomach was empty because I do not like the Purina dry food). Mom relented and bought me the IAMS that I love and now everything is fine.

Another Sunday

We had a day of rest. I watched the squirrels,
and the cat across the street for quite awhile. Mom doesn't understand that I stay awake most of the night, playing with Emma's old toys. So I'm pretty tired in the morning.

I spend a lot of time trying to get into the locked room, dad and mom's room.

And today I talked to Dar on the phone (he talked and I pulled the phone to me and rubbed his voice).

After a good nap I'm ready to play again in the late afternoon!

Part 2: Added benefits of sun bathing

After lunch today I got back in the sunshine for a sun bath. I'm keeping an eye out for the neighbor cat, the squirrels, and the swirling leaves.

And, I can sleep right next to my box of cat food! Food, warmth, and entertainment. What more could I want.

Dar, I'm thinking of you....Chessie

Part 1: Squirrels

The squirrels were very active this morning, and I have spent a lot of time keeping track of them. It's a windy day and the leaves are blowing past the window. And the cat across the street is sitting in the sun by his house. It's like reading my own newspaper, getting a grasp on what is happening in my world.

Last night dad and mom stayed up late watching a PBS special on Tony Bennet and his friends singing duets. I really liked some of the music. But as time passed I came into my normal waking activities, chasing the string, the feather, the balls, going crazy with excitement! That's what Dar and I do late at night. I sure do miss him.

Sun Bath

When mom got home today she opened the shades in the kitchen and let the sun shine in. I love watching for squirrels and cats, but today I discovered the joy of taking a sun bath! It felt so warm and cozy, relaxing by the window, near my food, and with a view of the yard to boot.

Housework

Mom was home today. Guess she’d put in so much time at work they gave her a day off! I had a great time playing with her and eating whenever I got hungry.

And mom needed help cleaning out the pantry. I’m good at getting into tight spaces and jumping from one shelf to the next. I was hoping to find bugs, but no luck.

But when mom vacuumed the house I headed to my (Dar’s) room and hid under the bed.

After lunch mom went to see grandma and grandpa and I took a nap.

And when I spent some time looking at the squirrels from the kitchen window I had a fright, our neighbors went walking past the window, checking on the state of their yard after last night’s fierce storm! That sent me back under the bed for awhile.

Now I'm just relaxing on the foot stool, my favorite place to nap! Dad is reading and mom is helping me with this blog. She says that I have a very interesting life!
